          On December 11th 1610, Galileo Galilei wrote to the Tuscan ambassador in Prague, that he had observed a phenomenon that was a strong argument for the Copernican theory.
          Galileo had turned his telescope towards Venus and saw that the planet changes its shape, waxing and waning like the Moon.
          The Phases of Venus result from the planet's orbit around the Sun inside the Earth`s orbit. It presents a full image when it is on the opposite side of the Sun. and the new phase when it is between the Earth and the Sun.
