Discover the COSMOS at the ICT 2013 conference and exhibition

Vilnius, Lithuania 6-8/11/2013 EA and IASA held a stand at the ICT 2013 exhibition, where they presented the Discover the COSMOS project and some of its online e-resources available to students and teachers. More than five thousand ICT professionals were registered for the conference and exhibition and they got the chance to visit our stand get informed about the project in general and its objectives. The visitors had the opportunity of a "hands-on" interactive experience with: a) A demo presentation of the HYPATIA ATLAS events analysis tool b) A demo presentation of the Faulkes telescopes c) The Virtual lab of the Crashing Galaxies scenario d) The SalsaJ tool for analyzing astronomical data
On November 7th at 12:00 there was also a live connection with the control center of the ATLAS experiment at CERN during which the visitors had the opportunity to talk to scientists from CERN and ask questions about the experiment and its progress both in the physics analysis and in the upgrade of the detector for the next LHC run. http://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/events/cf/ict2013/item-display.cfm?id=11248
