Shapes of Galaxies

Original Title:

    Shapes of Galaxies

Shapes of galaxies; galaxy nucleus; foreground stars; spiral arms.

A galaxy is a massive, gravitationally bounds system that consists of stars and stellar remnants, interstellar medium of gas dust, and an important but poorly understood component tentatively dubbed dark matter. To do this activity students are going to use a real telescope - The Faulkes Telescope Project, part of LCOGTN.
