Discover the Cosmos e-twinning programme

created: Sun, 28 Apr 2013

As part of the "Discover the Cosmos" e-twinning programme, the Faulkes Telescope Project are planning a series of "Themed Observing Days" during May.

These days could be tracking the motion and rotation of an asteroid, or watching an exoplanet transit in front of it's parent star, or any programme that would require several hours of continuous data. The observations are divided into 30 minute slots, each allocated to a different school, so that each school contributes data to the overall project, and all can share the combined data at the end of the day.

If you think your school would be interested in taking part in this sort of project, please register on the FT website (http://www.faulkes-telescope.com/information/registration/teacher), and indicate that you are an EU interested in participating in the Discover the Cosmos twinning project.

If you can enter the text "DtC school" into the "further details" box, then we will know that you are part of the project, and we can set up an account for you. Please ignore the "Validation" requests section as this is for UK schools only.

We can only accommodate a limited number of new schools, so please register as quickly as possible.

The upcoming dates for the e-twinning projects scheduled so far are:

29/04/13 - 11:00 - 12:30 UT FTN & FTS - asteroid imaging (proposed by a school in Belgium)
